Hair Removal

It's important to know your skin and which type of wax is most suitable for it. Don't settle – you should know your options and understand why a particular wax is being recommended to you by our medical aestheticians. Below is a description of some of the types of wax we offer at Divine Spa, and how they work.

Nufree is a self-preserving antibacterial/antimicrobial method of removal, therefore it is safe, clean and germ free. It is not a wax and never adheres to the skin. Nufree is completely botanical and is safe to use on the entire body.

How it works

How safe is Nufree?

Nufree was originally formulated for plastic surgeons who required hair removal for their patients prior to surgery. Unfree was scientifically tested for over 10 years, and is not tested on animals.

Why is there no pain with Nufree?

Nufree never dries and never sticks to the skin, therefore is doesn’t pull or cause painful irritation.

Why do I need finipil after my treatments?

Finipil helps shrink the empty follicle, keeps it clean and retards hair regrowth

How long do the results last?

Results can be seen immediately. After your first two treatments, regrowth is lighter and softer. If finipil is applied, you will initially return in four to six weeks. With each additional treatment where finipil has been applied, you will experience one third less growth each time and visits will not be required for six to ten weeks.

Epilfree hair removal is a comprehensive treatment which inhibits and slows down regrowth of body hair. It works by applying a serum consisting of essential liquids extracted from herbs, post epilation.

How it works

Epilfree works in three simple steps:

  1. Epilation using high quality Epilfree approved wax
  2. Application of Activator A – spread over entire treated area
  3. Application of Toner B – applied just a few minutes after Activator A

Divine Spa uses Alexandria Professional® for removing unwanted hair by sugaring.

Is there a difference between sugaring and waxing?

Sugaring unwanted facial and body hair requires an entirely different mind-set and approach from waxing. For instance, did you know… AP sugaring products do not adhere to live skin cells… This is one of the major differences between sugaring and waxing legs and other more sensitive areas. Wax products are made of resins which adhere to skin cells. Because wax sticks to any surface it is applied to, pulling it away causes unwarranted pain.

Alexandria Professional® sugaring products never adhere to live skin cells on bodies, faces, or legs. Therefore, when it is removed, it only gently exfoliates dead skin cells, leaving behind silky smooth skin. Additionally, because AP sugaring paste is all natural and water soluble, it can be easily rinsed away if needed.

What is the difference between the two techniques?

When waxing legs and bodies, you remove the hair against the natural direction of growth causing undue levels of pain. With Alexandria Professional®’s sugaring method, you only remove the hair in the natural direction of the hair growth. Plus, through the Alexandria sugaring application technique, the sugar paste seeps into the hair follicle. This helps lubricate the hair root regardless of whether it’s on the legs or anywhere else on your client. These two facts alone make a world of difference in comfort for the client. This is especially important for clients who have suffered in the past with waxing in sensitive areas.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

AP sugaring is performed at body temperature. Alexandria Professional® advanced sugar pastes adhere to the hair, not the skin, and lubricate the root for easier extraction from the follicle. Combined with the hair removal in the natural direction of growth, AP sugaring means a much more comfortable experience for everyone.
