CHEMICAL PEELS

CHEMICAL PEEL

A chemical peel is a treatment used to improve skin texture and tone. An acid is applied to skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, inducing exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. Chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen.

A chemical peel is a treatment designed to improve skin texture and tone. An acid is applied to skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, inducing exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin to peel off or fluff off, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. Chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen.

Divine Spa uses AlumierMD as our go-to brand for chemical peels. There are a number of different chemical peels to choose from including the infamous Glow Peel, BHA20, AHA DUO, and RENEW30.

Glow Peel:

Glow Peel consists of 7% resorcinol, 7% salicylic acid, 7% lactic acid, creating a multipurpose resurfacing solution that exfoliates dead skin cells and stimulates skin cell renewal. This formula is effective in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation issues like age spots, discolouration, and even skin tone. To suit individual needs, Glow Peel can be customized in strength by the number of layers applied.

BHA20:

BHA20 is a 20% salicylic acid resurfacing peel that both reduces the signs of acne and helps correct skin discolouration. This peel is ideal for oily and acne-prone skin. It improves skin texture exfoliating dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and within pores.

AHA DUO:

The AHA DUO is a combination of alpha hydroxy acid resurfacing peel containing 20% lactic acid and 10% glycolic acid.  It decrease the visible signs of aging (fine lines, wrinkles), hyperpigmentation (sun damage), and large pores. It exfoliates dead skin cells and boosts cell turnover, improving skin texture and tone.

Renew30:

Renew30 is a alpha hydroxy resurfacing peel containing 30% lactic acid to exfoliate dead skin cells and boost cell turnover, improving skin texture and tone. This peel targets skin concerns such as dry, dehydrated, dull skin, as well as signs of aging (fine lines wrinkles), large pores, and sun damage. This peel is the least aggressive of them all, and also has the least amount of downtime. The Renew30 is great for an instant glow before any occasion!

Post Peel Tips / Information:

You have just completed an AlumierMD skin treatment. Due to the nature of these treatments, you should not necessarily expect to “peel”. However,  you may have light to moderate flaking in few localized areas from 3-7 days. You may also experience residual redness, which lasts anywhere from 1-12 hours. It is recommended that you do not apply any makeup the day of the treatment. However, makeup can be applied if necessary. It is ideal to allow the skin to stabilize and rest overnight. The night of the treatment, you skin will feel tight and “pulled”. Although you may or may not actually “peel”, it is likely that you will experience a light “exfoliation”. It may take 2 or more treatments to target the deeper layers of skin to loosen and “peel”. In order to obtain maximum results and avoid complications, please follow the post peel instructions listed below (and on your post peel kits) for approximately 5-7 days.
